Born in 1994, Kristy started making music at an early age. At the age of five she started taking recorder lessons according to the Suzuki method, where children are taught to play by ear. Because of this background, Kristy has developed a very precise ear for music.

She is currently studying recorder at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam with principal subject teacher Jorge Isaac. She is also taught by Hester Groenleer, Erik Bosgraaf and María Martínez Ayerza, among others. They offer a broad curriculum, in which modern music plays an equally important role as early music.

Kristy regularly performs a varied range of music with many (sometimes remarkable) combinations of instruments. She is a member of several ensembles:

Le Réveil

A recorder trio that focuses on both early and contemporary music, consisting of Kristy van Dijk, Paul Schauenburg and Gabriel Belkheiri.

Echo Antiqua Amsterdam

An ensemble that specializes in early music, with a focus on music from the Baroque. The members are:

Kristy van Dijk, recorder

Christine Blasl, oboe and recorder

Luís Tasso Athayde Santos, bassoon

Irene González Roldán, harpsichord

Kristy is also active as a music teacher. She has completed Pabo education at the Hogeschool Utrecht and uses her experience to teach recorder to children and adults.
